Dallas Cowboys now worth $2.1 billion

Forbes:
The Dallas Cowboys have not been to the Super Bowl in 16 years. But the lack of a title game appearance has done nothing to slow down the money that flows into the arms of Jerry Jones, the oilman who bought the National Football League team and lease to its stadium in 1989 for $150 million. The Cowboys are now worth $2.1 billion, more than any sports team on the planet, save Manchester United.

Tony Romo disagrees with Boss Jones

Jerral "Jerry" Wayne Jones (net worth $2 billion), 69, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, on the NFL Network recently:

"Well, my window is getting shorter. Time goes by. I do feel real pressure because we do have players not only in (quarterback) Tony Romo, but (tight end) Jason Witten (and linebacker) DeMarcus Ware, to leave out several that are (also) in the prime of their career. And we need to strike and strike soon with those guys."

"(Coach) Jason Garrett feels exactly the same way about it and understands how urgent it is. Candidly, you're looking through rose-colored glasses if we all don't realize that now is the time to compete on the field."

And, later, quarterback Tony Romo, quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, and his take on Jerry Jones' take:

"It's not closing. I think there's a sense of urgency every year that you play, whether it's your first year in the league or your 22nd. You never know when all that stuff is going to happen, so you just play every year as if it's an urgent day."
Just another urgent day in Dallas, Texas.

Pat Bowlen wins the Peyton Manning Quarterback Auction

It was billionaire vs. billionaire.

Oil man vs. oil man.

Denver vs. Tennessee in the 2012 Peyton Manning National Quarterback auction and derby.

Patrick Dennis "Pat" Bowlen is our winner.

Bud Adams, who thought he had the Tennessee advantage, thought he could bring the ol' Tennessee Volunteer home, thought Peyton's wife would talk him into joining the Titans, thought wrong.

There is a reason why Denver has two Super Bowl championships and Tennessee has none.

That reason is John Elway.

A supermodel, the quarterback and the Super Bowl

Another Super Bowl has slipped away for the husband of Brazilian supermodel (and nearly a billionaire) Gisele Bundchen.

Tom Brady has lost another Super Bowl to the New York Giants 21-17.

“I think it was just the missed opportunities,” Brady said.

Gisele Bundchen post game remarks (to heckling Giants fans):
"You (have) to catch the ball when you're supposed to catch the ball. My husband cannot [expletive] throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times."
